One more thing

As I write this, there are 14 days left in 2024. It is so easy to begin coasting into the new year. Between the holiday parties, shopping, gift wrapping, and decorating, who has time to push hard on 2024 goals? And why not coast? Let me tell you why and what you should do about it.

Don’t lose momentum – You have likely been working hard all year on your goals, whether personal, professional, or business, you don’t want to lose the momentum you have created. I am not saying that you should not enjoy this season. You should make time for the extra holiday activities and tasks to celebrate this special time. Prioritize what is most important and let go of some things you normally do. For me, I will let up a bit on my exercise routine to create some necessary time knowing that I will get back to my normal routine after the holiday. By creating this time, you can make room for your 2024 goals.

Identify the one thing that will make a difference – Take an inventory of your 2024 goals. Where have you fallen short? Where could you push a little harder? Speaking engagements are a major part of my client acquisition strategy. I heard about a potential opportunity from a client and had followed up but did not get anywhere. I honestly had forgotten about this but as I was reflecting this week on the one thing I could do before the end of the year that would make a difference, this came to mind. So, I reached out again, and this time was successful in scheduling time to talk with my contact. Why is this important? My goal in 2025 is a minimum of 6 speaking engagements and by making this connection, I am on my way to reaching this goal.

Run full speed into 2025 – If you coast for the rest of 2024, it will take you some time to get up to speed in 2025. You can’t afford to waste half of January getting yourself going. By doing that one thing that makes a difference, you are setting yourself up for success in 2025. And while you are at it, make time to reflect on what you accomplished in 2024 and what you will accomplish in 2025. Are there 2024 goals that you finished and can be checked off? Are there some goals that are still relevant that you will continue into 2025 but perhaps you need to “up the ante?” What new goals are important for 2025? Even if you only have a few hours for this reflection, it will be a head start in 2025.

What is the one thing you can do that will make a difference in setting you up for success in 2025? Need some help? Book a free discovery session to learn about my life and business coaching services.
